In the continuation of the programme, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, who also mentioned the educational opportunities of Pamukkale University, said: "Education is the most important issue for all of us. Our future depends on education. Universities were closed in March due to the global epidemic (pandemic). We, both students and their teachers, made an accounting of education. At the end of this accounting, we decided that education should go beyond the classical teacher education. In fact, education is the student's lesson, the student's exam and the student's responsibility. When we conducted a survey among students about whether a course is understood or not, 70 per cent of university students said that they study to pass the course. In fact, the course should be studied to be understood. At this point, when we think about what we can do, we are currently doing distance education and we wanted to check whether the necessary infrastructure is ready for the student. We have 52 thousand 900 students. We reached our students. One thousand 310 of these students stated that they did not have access to distance education, and 621 of them stated that they did not have a tablet or computer. The rest of the students said that their internet quota was not enough. We need to reach these students. We want to deliver tablets to students as soon as possible. I personally want to give one tablet as a gift."
Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan underlined that the courses are taught differently from the classical method. In our system, the course materials are uploaded to the system in advance, and our students prepare for the subject according to these materials before the live lesson, so that they can discuss the lesson with the lecturer in the live lesson and direct their questions to our lecturers. This situation makes a significant contribution to the understanding and application of the subject in the course.
